    Novel Thoughts Book Club

    Author Event featuring Don Helin

    Don Helin hails from Minneapolis. During his time in the military, he served at a number of state-side posts as well as overseas assignments in Vietnam and Germany. Using his experience from the military, including eight years in the Pentagon, Don published his first thriller, Thy Kingdom Come, in 2009. His second, Devil's Den, has been selected as a finalist in the Indie Book Awards. His most recent thriller, Secret Assault, was published this past fall. Don is an active member of International Thriller Writers, Military Writers Society of America, Pennwriters, a statewide writers group in Pennsylvania, and is a mentor with Mystery Writers of America. He makes his home in central Pennsylvania where he is hard at work on his next Zack Kelly thriller, Dark Angel.     Genealogy for Beginners

    Location: East Shore Area Library

    Genealogy for Beginners is designed specifically for people who have no experience tracing their family tree and would like to start. This event is presented by David Klees and sponsored by the Friends of the East Shore Area Library. Attendance is open to everyone. David Klees has been tracing his own family tree for 45 years, has dabbled as a professional genealogist, and has also translated Pennsylvania German church records.

    Collection: New and gently used books, videos, CDs and other items can be donated to the Friends of the McCormick Riverfront Library so that they can be placed in the book sale to benefit the library. Donations can be delivered to 115 Locust St, Harrisburg on Thursday, May 21 from 4-6 pm.
    Sale: New and gently used books, videos, CDs and other items will be on sale at the McCormick Riverfront Library, 101 Walnut Street, Harrisburg at the Friends of the Library’s Spring Book Sale.
