Learn about the James Webb Space Telescope

Wednesday, December 8 at 6:30 p.m. on Zoom
Best for ages 6+, but all ages welcome

Join NASA Solar System Ambassador, Axel Diaz, on Zoom to learn about the James Webb Space Telescope, which is set to launch on December 18 after more than a decade in the making. Hear about the telescope’s mission, design, and what it will be photographing. There will also be an opportunity for Q and A, so bring along all your space questions!

Axel Diax 
Axel Diaz was born and raised in Ponce, Puerto Rico and came to Lancaster, PA in 1998. After graduating from high school he decided to pursue a career in technology. After graduating from the Institute of Technology of Ponce in 1987 with an associate degree in Biomedical Technology, he attended the Ponce Paramedical College where he studies sales and marketing. While living in Puerto Rico, Axel learned America Sign Language and acted as interpreter. Since 1999, Axel has been working for a manufacturing company in Lancaster and recently went back to college to pursue a degree in mechanical engineering.

Stop by any library beginning December 1 to pick up a kit to learn, discover, and explore the James Webb Space Telescope at home! Fold a hexagon, recreate the telescope’s famed mirror array, and refract some light with a spoon. Kits available at all 8 locations while supplies last.
