Donating through your IRA and Life Insurance

Donating through your IRA

If you are 70 ½ or older, you can give directly from your IRA to the charity of your choice. This allows you to direct your gift to a cause you feel strongly about and not take a distribution that will trigger a tax bill. If you have questions, consult the bank, brokerage or fund company that has your account.

You can also make a planned gift by including a charity or charities as the beneficiary of your IRA account.

Donating via Life Insurance

Your bequest to a cause you care about can be as simple as including the charity or charities of your choice as beneficiaries on your existing or new life insurance policy.
