Last Tuesday, January 30th, the Northern Dauphin Library was the location of The Library’s Design collage of shots from the design a library tote programa Library Tote class. The Library offers a number of crafting courses for adults, including: mixed media, seasonal projects and decor, knitting/crocheting, adult coloring, Pinterest projects, and baking and food-based art. As our community grows and evolves, we are able to offer more and more new classes!

Design a Library Tote was like many of our other craft classes: beginners were given additional guidance, and the pros were allowed to pretty much create however and whatever they liked.

For this class, the two main techniques used were applique and fabric paint/markers. Applique was a process that involved cutting, ironing, placement, and then ironing again. Some of the participants even used a combination of techniques.

There was an obvious range in experience and stylistic choices, but all the bags turned out wonderfully. It was a great opportunity to try something new, and all participants were allowed to take their bags home with them free of charge.

For information on other upcoming crafting courses offered at The Library, check out our program listings in Compass.
