Fall will arrive in just a few days, bringing with it shorter days, colorful leaves, pumpkins, mums, and cozy sweaters. At The Library, autumn also ushers in one of our favorite events: the Joan Y. Leopold Children’s Book Week Celebration, a time to honor family, books, and early childhood literacy.
Made possible by the Joan Y. Leopold Endowment Fund, this year’s celebration will feature Harrisburg resident, author and illustrator, Jonathan Bean. Bean will visit 4 Library locations during this 3-day event. The program will include a presentation, book signing of Bean’s book, Big Snow, and related activities for children.
Passive activities will be available in The Library during the week leading up to the weekend events, and Big Snow will star in specially planned Preschool Storytimes.
We welcome your family to join us at one of the following locations for this 14th annual event. We encourage you to wear your cozy sweaters!!!

William H. & Marion C. Alexander Family Library: Saturday, November 9 at 10:00 a.m.
Kline Library: Saturday, November 9 at 1:30 p.m.
