Family Science Program – Mixing Matter Show with Da Vinci Science Center
Location: Community Learning Center in the T. Morris Chester Welcome Center
This show introduces students to some truly amazing chemical concepts. In the first half, students learn the basics of chemical reactions. Exploding soap monsters and experiments with fire demonstrate the awesome potential of mixing matter. The second half highlights the super COOL side of chemistry as students explore the properties of liquid nitrogen.

Lunch and Learn: Science Workshop for Elementary Educators
Location: Community Learning Center in the T. Morris Chester Welcome Center

Dessert with the Pennsylvania Past Players
Location: Kunkel and Alexander Community Rooms in the Haldeman Haly House
Help The Library welcome the Pennsylvania Past Players to their new home as they share their experiences and perspectives on modern life from the point of view of historic figures from the past including T. Morris Chester, Jacob Compton and Ms. Frances Ellen Watkins Harper.

Meet Author Jamilah Thompkins-Bigelow
Location: Community Learning Center in the T. Morris Chester Welcome Center
As we wrap up The Library’s Children’s Book Week activities, Ms.Thompkins-Bigelow will read aloud from her books Mommy’s Khimar and Your Name is a Song and engage with preschoolers and their families whether they are in-person or virtual attendees. Each family that registers will receive a signed copy of Your Name is a Song. In-person attendees can have their book personalized after the event.
