Pop’s Puppets
The Friends will be sponsoring a Christmas Puppet Show at the Elizabethville Library on Saturday, December 7, 2024. There will be two shows, 10:30 and 12:30 pm. There will be a visit from Santa. Children attending will receive a free book from the Friends of the Elizabethville Library.

Time: 10:30am – 11:15am & 12:30pm – 1:15pm
Pop draws a cartoon face of Santa Claus, which magically comes to life. Ringo the Racoon jumps out of the Christmas stocking and a large colorful bird perches on Pop’s arm and sings “Nuttin for Christmas”. Our Master of Ceremonies, Pedro, tells the story of The Legend of the Poinsettia, a popular children’s book by Tomie dePaola. Pedro is joined by his pets (2 cats & a dog) and by Mr. & Mrs. Chris Mouse, Big Honker & the Schnozzolas Rock & Roll Trio. And …..Santa & Mrs. Claus entertain the audience with Christmas songs. A unique feature of the show is Pop has the children work the puppets, as kids love to get into the act! They find this style of puppetry especially fun.

Friends of Elizabethville Area Library 2025 Membership Drive
The Friends of the Elizabethville Area Library are having a Membership Drive for 2025 and we are looking for your support. The “FRIENDS” is a nonprofit organization that loves what our library does for each of us. It supports the library through fund-raising and volunteer work and is a strong support group of the Lively Minds Series, Author on the Road Program, programs for children and adults and Children’s Community Outreach. The Friends are also dedicated to promoting and enhancing the library and its services. Visit the Library to see what enhancements The Friends contributions have helped provide.

The Friends of the Elizabethville Area Library invite library lovers to join them as they plan programs for the library, book sales and the annual raffle/silent auction.

- Provide refreshments and support for the Lively Minds Series
- Sponsor Author on the Road with Upper Dauphin and Halifax Middle Schools to provide an author visit to the schools
- Purchase refreshments, craft materials and supplies for juvenile programs as requested
- Sponsor the annual library children’s Christmas program
- Sponsor Adult programs
- Assist the library with purchasing equipment and new technologies
- Support community programs and children’s learning experiences
