HARRISBURG, Pa. — Repurpose some of your well-worn shirts into a one of a kind quilt. As part of the “On Your Mark… Get Set… READ!” 2016 Summer Reading Club, long-time sewer JoEllen Myers will be at the William H. & Marion C. Alexander Family Library to lead guests through all the necessary steps of constructing a t-shirt quilt.
These classes will be offered in a three-week series, with one hands-on class each week. Classes will be held on July 20, July 27 and August 3 starting at 6:00 pm.
During the first class, JoEllen will show how to properly prep the shirts so they can be quilted. In the second and third classes, participants will get to sew the t-shirts together and work towards completing their quilts. Guests are required to provide their own sewing machine and other additional supplies. A supply list will be provided when participants sign up. Registration is required. For more information or to register, visit dcls.org or call your local library.
The “On Your Mark… Get Set… READ!” Summer Reading Program is sponsored by the Dauphin County Library System, BB&T, Centric Bank, Fulton Bank, M & T Bank, Mid Penn Bank, PNC, and UGI Utilities with additional support provided by Wells Fargo.
