    Fizz! Boom! READ this summer with free and exciting programs for children of all ages. In addition to the library programs, there will be special guest performers throughout the summer. And, on August 30th children who complete the reading club will be able to attend a fun and fantastic free Fun Festival at Fort Hunter. With activities, crafts, face painters, balloon animals, food and more this event is sure to end summer with a BOOM!

    Reader's Theatre Youth Volunteers (Ages 11 to 18)
    What's Reader's Theater? It's a play where you act out a role, but you read from the script so there’s nothing to memorize. Come be a star and a reading role model!

    Reader's Theatre Performance (Ages 3 to 8)
    Volunteers have been preparing to perform Reader’s Theatre just for you! Come watch these talented young actors in a fun and fantastic performance. Sure to be a hit with children and families.

    Summer Reading Fun -- Fizz, Boom, WOW! Edition (Ages 2 to 12)
    Join in the summer reading fun with this program that delves into the world of mad science. This exciting program is full of fun activities, crafts and more that explore how to Fizz, Boom, READ this summer! No registration required.

    Book Swap Bingo (Ages 7 to 12)
    Play bingo to swap your books with some that other children have brought. A great way to share old favorites, and find new ones too! No registration required.

    Zany Days @ The Library (Ages 2 to 12)
    Join The Library in this rockin' program. Stories, crafts, games and more await at this wacky, silly, kooky, ZANY program. No registration required.

    Stuffed Animal Sleepover (Ages 3 to 8)
    You can't sleep over at The Library, but your favorite stuffed animal can! Bring your favorite stuffed buddy to the library the day before this program. Come back to pick them up the next day, and stay to check out what your favorite friend was up to over night at the library! (One animal per child please.) No registration required.

    Discover Duct Tape (Ages 7 to 12)
    What can you make with duct tape? Purses, wallets, belts, flip-flops… or your own creation. You’re only limited by your imagination - and the end of the roll. Registration Limit: 20

    Try Tie Dye (Ages 7 to 12)
    What says summer better than bright colors and fun? Bring your own t-shirt or other dye-able item such as a pillowcase or canvas bag. Then let your imagination go wild to make a bold summer statement.

    Little Ones: Lights and Colors! (Ages 2 to 5)
    We've mixed up this program just for our smallest friends! This program incorporates a short story time, songs, art and creative play. No registration required.

    Little Ones: Nature Fun! (Ages 2 to 5)

    Little Ones: Magnets! (Ages 2 to 5)
    We've mixed up this program just for our smallest friends! This program incorporates a short story time, songs, art and creative play. No registration required.

    Teen Craft: Wearable Art (Ages 11 to 18)
    Want to make your own jewelry? We'll provide the materials. Decorate flip flops? Bring your own, we'll provide the extras. Come learn the basics and leave with a work of art that you can wear.

    Teen Craft: Upcycle it! (Ages 11 to 18)
    Every day, people throw away things that could be made into crafty creations. Come in to learn how to make trash into treasures.

    Dave Rojahn: Magician, Comedian, Funny Guy! (All Ages)
    Dave Rojahn blends outlandish predicaments with unusual feats of comic conjuring. NOT your usual magician! No registration required.

    ZooAmerica: Animal Science Rocks! (Ages 7 to 12)
    Live animals are featured at this program in partnership with ZooAmerica. Learn how wild animals have helped us gain a better understanding of physics, biology, biotechnology, chemistry, and medicine. No registration required.

    Judy Bower: Pop! The Science of Bubbles (Ages 3 to 6)
    We will create tiny bubbles, fog filled bubbles, and even bubbles inside bubbles. At this entertaining program children will take home some bubble solution and possibly see the world from inside a bubble. No registration required.

    Judy Bower: The Magic of Science and the Science of Magic (Ages 7 to 12)
    Science can amaze us in ways that seem magical. Refract light to create rainbows and discover how powerful air pressure can be. Children will explore the principles of chemistry and physics behind many classic magic tricks. No registration required.

    Writer's Workshops with Judy Wolfman (Ages 11 to 14)
    Attention young writers! Come develop your skills at three workshops with Judy Wolfman, author of the children’s Life On a Farm series and the young adult novel Not My Time. Each 90 minute workshop can be taken individually or as part of the series. Write on!

    SRC Fun Festival (Ages 0 to 12)
    Join us for this special festival to celebrate the end of summer reading. This event is just for our readers. Children can either use their reading certificate or Club Card for admission. There will be activities, snacks, games, face painting, balloon animals, special performers and so much more.
