How to Participate
Preschoolers
NEW this year is a special program for the 5 and under crowd. In conjunction with 1000 Books Before Kindergarten, we are challenging our youngest Library members to read 100 books between June 1 and August 31. Sound like a lot? That’s just over 1 book a day. PLUS, everything counts! If you read the same book over and over, it counts! If you hear a story at storytime, it counts! Sign up for both the Summer Reading Club and 1000 Books Before Kindergarten, and make your reading count double.
School Aged Kids
Kids ages 5 to 12, your goal this summer is to earn 8 badges by logging your time spent reading, completing activities, or a combination of the two. Read for 5 hours and win an Explore Your Community Bag with tickets and coupons for free stuff inside. Complete the program by reading for 10 hours or earn 8 badges with a combination of reading and activities.
Teens
Teenagers aged 12 to 18, your goal this summer is to earn 8 badges by logging your time spent reading, completing activities, or a combination of the two. Read for 5 hours and win an Explore Your Community Bag with tickets and coupons for free stuff inside. Complete the program by reading for 10 hours or earn 8 badges with a combination of reading and activities.
Adults
Adults ages 18+, your goal this summer is simple: read 1 book. You’re busy, and we heard you. The Library wants everyone in the community to read, so we’ve simplified our adult summer reading club. Read 1 book and you’ve earned a book prize, read 3 books (that’s a book a month), and you’ve completed the Summer Reading Club. Keep reading to earn more entries in our raffle drawing at the end of the summer.
Prizes for Everyone
When you complete the Summer Reading Club you earn a book to keep, plus you’re entered in a drawing for gift cards for kids, teens, and adults. Earn additional entries by continuing to read and log your time!
