About The Library’s Digital Collection

Your library is pleased to provide our customers with access to a great collection of downloadable ebooks and audiobooks through our agreement with OverDrive, Inc., a global digital distributor of eBooks, audiobooks, & more.
The selection of ebook and audiobook titles that are available is limited and can change at any time.
OverDrive, Inc. works with publishers and producers of content to determine what titles are available for public libraries to purchase or license.

  • Many of the popular mainstream publishers (examples: MacMillan and Simon & Schuster) don’t work with OverDrive to allow public libraries to share digital titles, so our library does not currently provide their content in downloadable format.
  • Some publishers allow libraries to purchase titles, but license their digital titles for specific numbers of uses.  (Example: Titles the library buys from HarperCollins can be used 26 times and then must be purchased again for continued access or removed from the collection.)
  • Some publishers (example: Brilliance Audio and Penguin) are allowing access to previously purchased content and some backlist titles, but will not be supplying new content for libraries to purchase through OverDrive.

Digital Device Compatibility

Not all eBook readers and eAudio players are compatible with library resources.  Check which ones are compatible before purchasing.

Read our Quick Start Guide (PDF, 2 pages), or visit the OverDrive support site for step-by-step directions and a video tour, as well as links to software used to download to your computer or portable device.

eBooks and downloadable audiobooks can be enjoyed at home, at work, or when you travel, but are not for use on the library’s computers.  Please note that eBooks and downloadable audiobooks can be downloaded inside the library on your own wireless device.

Please note that not all titles are produced in all formats for public libraries.

Please be patient as the library builds a collection of materials in this emerging format. Waiting periods for requests are frequent because we are not currently purchasing multiple copies of many digital titles. Please be patient. If you need the title right away, check your local library catalog for print or CD availability and length of wait list for those formats.
