Which Search Engine Do I Want?

I have common keywords that probably appear in many documents.
I have common keywords in a phrase like "New" in New Orleans or "A" in Vitamin A that cannot be ignored.
I need to do a pinpoint search because my terms are specific.
I need data to support my science fair project.
I need scientific information to back up research.
I have very specific search terms.

AltaVista is a massive index of full text with methods of narrowing results. By placing a phrase in quotes, it will search common words quickly. It was ranked best for finding scientific information in a university study.
