    The Library provides a wide variety of programming for families and children of all ages. These programs help children and families explore their world and discover how to satisfy their curiosity.

    Registration is required for these programs

    To register for any of the libraries Special Programs click on the date of the program in the calendar below.

    BookRATs (6-11)
    BookRATs (Read And Talk) is a monthly book discussion group. Read a book (we'll choose a topic--you choose a book) and talk about what you've read. Kids also do a craft or activity, have a snack and pick a book for next month. Program length: 60 minutes, Registration Limit: 20. >> Registration Info  

    Family Movie (all ages – ages 6 and up)
    Relax and enjoy a free family-friendly movie together. Recommended for children ages 6 and up. >> Registration Info

    Paws2Read (ages 6-11)
    Join certified therapy dogs for a fun session of reading. This special program encourages children who may be reluctant readers to read to the easiest and most willing audience – a dog. Each child has the opportunity to read to the dog for about 15 minutes. Registration for this program is by appointment.     Family Fun (All Ages)
    Free quality time for each family! Come to The Library for a program filled with crafts, music and other fun activities. Program length: 45 minutes, Registration Limit: 15 >> Registration Info

    Family Game (All Ages)
    Share the fun of playing family-friendly games while you spend some quality time together at The Library. Program length: 45 minutes, Registration Limit: 10 families >> Registration Info

    Helping Hands

    Children at the programs received a book and a bag of giveaways to keep.

    These programs are a joint project of the Dauphin County Library System and Dauphin County Employees. Special thanks to the Dauphin County Commissioners, Jeff Haste, Mike Pries, and George P. Hartwick, III for making these programs possible.
